How to prepare regular medicines at home has also become a focus of public attention. Dr. Zhang Jiahao, director of the Internal Medicine Intensive Care Unit of National Taiwan University Hospital, Hsinchu Branch, Hsinchu Hospital, shared on social media four types of stock medicines that can be used to relieve symptoms of mild cases after diagnosis, and reminded people diagnosed with the disease to take precautions at home.

The following medications are labeled:

$: Medicines instructed by doctors, pharmacists and pharmacists can be purchased at general community pharmacies and used under the instructions of doctors and pharmacists.

&: Must be used with a doctor’s prescription.

Medications that can be used in adults after diagnosis: fever, sore throat, headache, muscle aches (similar medicines can be used)

  1. Acetaminophen$: The usual dosage is 500mg/pill, take one pill every 4-6 hours, the maximum daily dose is 8 pills, take it after meals. It is recommended to use it when the ear temperature exceeds 38 degrees, and it can also be used for other pains.

  2. NSAID (Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) drugs, the following are common types:

    • Boshutong film-coated tablets&: 500mg, 1 tablet every 8 hours, maximum dose: 3 tablets, after meals

    • Nengbaizhen Tablets&: 250mg, 1 tablet every 6-8 hours, maximum dose: 5 tablets, after meals

    • Yipu tablets&: 400mg, 1 tablet every 4-6 hours, maximum dose 8 tablets, after meals

It is recommended to use it if the ear temperature exceeds 39 degrees, or if Acetaminophen cannot reduce the fever, please note that it may increase gastrointestinal bleeding.

Drugs that adults can use after diagnosis: Cough (use one kind, it can be combined with drugs, some require a doctor’s prescription)

Dextromethorphan, the main cough drug ingredient

  • Asukaro film-coated tablets&: 60 mg, one tablet at a time, morning and evening, after meals

  • Miukekang Tablets$: 15mg, one tablet at a time in the morning, noon and evening, after meals

  • Miokefuhehe Capsules&: 20mg, one capsule at a time in the morning, noon and evening, after meals

Other cough medicines

  • Antitussive and phlegm-removing liquid$: once in the morning, noon and evening, 5-15ml each time, after meals

  • Licorice cough solution&: 5ml each time in the morning, noon and evening, after meals (doctor’s prescription required)

Medications that adults can use after diagnosis: If the phlegm is very thick and thick (similar medicines can be purchased), use one of two ingredients

▲ Ambroxol&: phlegm-calming tablets, Mesu cough tablets: one tablet at a time in the morning, noon and evening, after meals

▲ Acetylcysteine:

  • Aike Tan Foaming Tablets&: 600mg, once in the morning and evening, one tablet at a time, after meals (soaked in water)

  • Aiketan Granules$: 200mg, once in the morning, noon and evening, one pack at a time, after meals

Medications that adults can use after diagnosis: nasal congestion and runny nose (use one of the following)

▲ First-generation antihistamine (Antihistamine): Stronger in effect, but more drowsy (such as: Shumin tablets$, Teximin tablets$, Penaan tablets&)

▲ Second-generation antihistamine (Antihistamine): moderately effective, but less drowsy (such as: Alay Tablets&, Rotadine Tablets&, Changning Tablets&)

▲ Third-generation antihistamine (Antihistamine): less effective, but least drowsy (such as Exelite film-coated tablets&)

Medications must be consulted by a pharmacist. Adult prescriptions are not suitable for children.

Dr. Zhang Jiahao also reminded that the above-mentioned standing medicines must be purchased at pharmacies and prescribed by pharmacists. Some drugs require a doctor’s prescription. If you are not sure, you can ask a pharmacist. When you have symptoms, take medication according to the symptoms, and you can choose similar drugs when choosing drugs. However, when there are danger signs announced by the command center, you should contact a doctor immediately. In addition, adult prescription medications are not suitable for children under the age of 18, so parents are reminded to pay special attention.
