According to statistics, a total of 2,080 people applied for hearing aid subsidies in 2023. The amount amounted to NT$28,566,300. Recently, I finally found a job at a buffet, but my boss insisted that I have to wear a hearing aid before I can get a job, so I started to accept the advice of my friends and start looking for a job. Therefore, I found the New Taipei City Assistive Devices Resource Center, and through the referral of the Assistive Devices Center and the New Taipei City Good Life Love Platform, I accepted the charity donation of Colin’s hearing aids. The moment I put on the hearing aids, I felt very happy and touched. My very vague sounds are now clear, and I can now communicate with the outside world smoothly. This has not only improved my quality of life and increased my opportunities to participate in social activities, but also reduced my financial pressure. Director of Social Affairs Li Meizhen said that the New Taipei City Assistive Device Resource Center is the only publicly-operated assistive device center in Taiwan and has been effective in promoting supersonic services for assistive devices. The hearing aid charity donation application period lasts for one year from 2024/3/1 to 2025/2/28. The New Taipei City Assistive Devices Resource Center will assess the need for hearing aids, those who are over 18 years old, registered in New Taipei City, and have Citizens with certificates of low or middle-income households or those who apply for social welfare subsidies will issue a referral form to the public. The public can use the referral form to contact the Colin hearing aid project window and arrange to go to the designated direct service center for selection.
